Welcome to AAO VR Education, an immersive ophthalmology simulator developed by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and supported by the Knights Templar Eye Foundation.
The program provides unlimited opportunities to develop eye care skills, receive feedback, and build confidence in detecting and treating retinopathy of prematurity (ROP).
This 3D simulator is designed to teach ophthalmology residents and trainees how to:
Use the indirect ophthalmoscope, scleral depressor, and BIO lens to perform a retinal exam.
Recognize and diagnose ROP, including severity, stage, and zone, and to recommend follow-up care.
Treat ROP with either laser or intravitreal injection.
Before you embark on this revolutionary educational journey, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with the content provided on this site.
You can find several guides and helpful resources that will prepare you to make the most out of the VR simulation.
